We're going to the beach!
Join us for an intensive vegan cooking (and eating!) weekend in a big, beautiful house at the New Jersey shore. Perfect for cooking novices and home cooks looking to learn new skills and spend time by the ocean.
Check in any time after 6 pm, and a complete dinner is served around 8. Spend the rest of the evening as you please, with snacks, coffee and tea always available.
A little breakfast nosh is served before our 9 am brunch class, where we will serve what we prepare - vegan omelets, French toast with homemade fruit compote... - by 10:30 am.
After brunch, we'll roll right into a vegan stuffed pasta-making class, making recipes - like vegan ricotta-filled dumplings - that will be included as part of our Saturday night dinner feast. Following pasta, we'll create a lemon-blueberry cheesecake dessert to have after dinner, then finish the morning with veggie pickling.
Saturday afternoon is yours for beaching and relaxing.
Return at 5 pm for our dinner class, where we'll go step by step through making an early summer seitan dish filled with fresh late spring/early summer veggies and learn techniques for easy sauces with complex flavor.
We'll eat what we make by 7 or 8 pm, and then the night is yours.
Breakfast is served at 9 am, with a 10 am checkout.
LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS
We'll be staying in a modern, three-story beachhouse, one block (less than 100 yards!) from the ocean (Kingston Beach), with two floors of sunlit bedrooms. There are 3.5 bathrooms to accommodate our eight guests. You'll get your own private bedroom. You may book for two in a shared bed at a discounted rate. Each bedroom has ONE bed.
The beachhouse is in the Lower Chelsea District of Atlantic City, half a mile from Ventnor.
Parking is easy, and the house offers wifi and a washer/dryer, if needed.

Once your spot is reserved, if you need to cancel, you are entitled to a 50% refund until April 25, 2017. Any cancellations after April 25 will forfeit the full cost of the reservation. If at any time, your double occupancy becomes a single occupancy, you will be billed the single occupancy price.
Regardless of cancellation date, if another guest books in your place, you will receive a full refund, less $150 for processing.
This class will explore a variety of tried-and-true vegan techniques and recipes. We will be cooking with many common allergens, such as wheat, tree nuts and coconut. We are unable to accommodate specific food allergies for this weekend.
